Dutton-Goldfield Winery Hires Melissa Stackhouse as Winemaker
Dutton-Goldfield Winery is excited to announce that winemaker veteran Melissa Stackhouse has joined the winery as Winemaker. Under the direction of owner/winemaker Dan Goldfield, Melissa will be extensively involved in all aspects of Dutton-Goldfield’s winemaking, as well as overseeing the management of our custom crush clients.
Melissa comes to Dutton-Goldfield with a winemaking history that parallels Dan Goldfield’s in several ways: she received her winemaking degree at University of California at Davis, apprenticed at Robert Mondavi Winery, and was winemaker at La Crema.

Dutton Goldfield has been featured in the Sonoma Wine Tasting Blog as one of the top 12 Sebastopol wine tasting spots. "Consistently voted the best Russian River Winery to visit, Dutton Goldfield is a well-known gem. Not only a precious spot for grape vines, but a beautiful apple orchard as well. So for those looking to get away from the boisterous valley crowds, the winery has a spacious tasting room, full of natural light," writes Scott Butterfield.

July 2021: Our 2020 Pinot Blanc from Green Valley of Russian River Valley is a very versatile wine. Whether by itself or with a summer salad, seafood, pasta, or any cheese, this wine pairs deliciously. DG's 2016 Cherry Ridge Vineyard Syrah from the Russian River Valley makes one of FoodAndWine.com's best 42 Syrahs from all over the world!
June 2021: We may be a little over excited about this honor but it's worth mentioning our inclusion into this list of great Syrahs. Our 2016 vintage was referred as "an almost Pinot Noir-like elegance" of a Syrah, along with noting that this wine has a "Pinot-producer's hand" in the making. Of course, Dan is an excellent Pinot Noir producer, and this just proves that he knows what he's doing with other varietals as well.
Sonoma County's The Press Democrat names Dutton-Goldfield's 2019 Chileno Valley Vineyard Riesling "Wine of the Week"!
JUNE 2021: Our 2019 Petaluma Gap sourced Riesling was chosen this honor by wine writer and reviewer Peg Melnik. She stated this wine as "a floral Riesling, with aromas of honeysuckle and white flowers. On the palate, notes of apricot and peach unfold".

April 2021: A recent review in the Sonoma County Gazette of Petaluma Gap Pinots revealed some pretty tasty wines from that region, with the winner being our 2018 Azaya Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir. We couldn't be prouder!
