We just bottled these wines yesterday and WOW! We are thrilled with our first bottlings from the 2021 vintage. With Spring officially here this week (and our weather proving the point), it's especially fitting to have our odes to the season get ready for release. Your presale pricing opportunity continues until March 31, so stock up now so you're set for the spring and summer months ahead!

Again this year, we're offering both our 2021 Rosé and 2021 Pinot Blanc at this amazing one-time-only price—over 30% off for club members and 20% off for our mailing list friends on case purchases! Plus, shipping is included on all orders of 2+ cases of either or both wines.

    2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir

Bursting with aromas of rose petals, juicy watermelon, and pear, our 2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir gives you everything you want from our favorite pink wine. In the mouth, there's just the right amount of creaminess enveloping the strawberry and citrus core. Stone fruit, melon, and candy apple notes add to the fruit party, with a touch of grapefruit peel giving the wine a zesty flair. The finish is lively and succulent, making your mouth water for the next sip. 318 cases bottled, and the release retail price will be $33 per bottle (if there's any left).

    2021 Shop Block Pinot Blanc

Our 2021 Shop Block Pinot Blanc pops with gorgeous fruit orchard aromas and flavors, and has that little bit of grip Pinot Blanc is known for, along with a touch of richness from the small amount of ML the wine went through. The nose leads with white peach, grapefruit, pineapple, and green apple, with pretty floral notes of lily of the valley and honeysuckle. All that and more is delivered in the mouth, with Asian pear, clementine, and a wet stone minerality adding to the complexity.

We bottled 279 cases and the wine will have a retail release price of $33.

  • Your exclusive presale on our 2021 Rosé & Pinot Blanc!

    March 15, 2022 15:21

OUR STORY  |  VISIT  |  WINE CLUB  |  SHOP

    It's here! Your exclusive
2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir &
2021 Shop Block Pinot Blanc Presale

We'll be bottling our 2021 bright whites at the end of March, so we're offering your presale opportunity now, with stock-up pricing.

Again this year, we're offering both our 2021 Rosé and 2021 Pinot Blanc at this amazing one-time-only price—over 20% off on case purchases! Plus, shipping is included on all orders of 2+ cases of either or both wines, you can order enough cases to get you through the spring, summer, and all year long.

    2021 Rosé of Pinot Noir

The core of our Rosé this vintage are three of our most aromatic Pinots: our Emerald Ridge and Fox Den vineyards in Green Valley, along with our Mendocino County star, Docker Hill. The wine has that beautiful core of acidity you want from Rosé that makes it so refreshing, with just enough roundness to make it a bit decadent. We tasted the pre-bottled version of the wine at our staff meeting last Monday night, and the comments from the team included: watermelon, peach, lively, stone fruit, "a day at the beach!", strawberry, and candy apple. We expect to bottle just about 250 cases and the release retail price will be $33 per bottle (if there's any left).

    Presale Case (12 bottles)
    $312
    (Only $26/bottle!)

    Presale 6-pack
    $174
    ($29/bottle)

    2021 Shop Block Pinot Blanc

Our Pinot Blanc has been a consistent crowd-pleaser since we first introduced it in 2006. The 2021 vintage pops with gorgeous fruit orchard aromas and flavors, and has that little bit of grip Pinot Blanc is known for, along with a touch of richness from the small amount of ML the wine went through. The nose leads with white peach, grapefruit, pineapple, and green apple, with pretty floral notes of lily of the valley and honeysuckle. All that and more is delivered in the mouth, with Asian pear, clementine, and a wet stone minerality adding to the complexity. As with the Rosé, we expect to bottle about 250 cases, with a retail release price of $33.

    Presale Case (12 bottles)
    $312
    (Only $26/bottle!)
    Presale 6-pack
    $174
    ($29/bottle)

  • Mother Nature's whiplash | Library wines to get you through the rest of winter

    February 28, 2022 15:21

OUR STORY  |  VISIT  |  WINE CLUB  |  SHOP

From record highs to record lows,
the 2022 season is off to a quirky start

We all got excited after harvest last year when the skies opened and we had record rainfall. Finally, a great start to our rainy season! We clocked around 30 inches in our neighborhood by the time 2021 ended, putting us at or above seasonal averages.

After that, we gave new meaning to "dry January" and have continued that into February, with only a tiny 1½ inches coming down since the beginning of the year. Unseasonably warm temperatures added to the party, with a full week of days reaching into the upper 70s and low 80s. Mother Nature decided to send us the polar (pun intended) opposite of that this week, plunging our morning temperatures into the 20s, as you can see from the frosty vineyard picture above.

So, what does all this mean for our vineyards and the grapes that will be made into our favorite beverage? Fortunately, no bad news so far, and even some good, as many ponds were filled with the big rains, so we're looking pretty solid for water here in our neighborhood, where the rainfall was some of the heaviest. Also, while the vines looked like they might start waking up early with the warm weather, it turned cold before that happened, so it's looking like we'll be back on track for our typical mid-March budbreak. As long as we don't have this sub-30s weather come back after the buds start unfurling their little leaves, we should be in good shape and not see any negative effects on the upcoming crop. We're also forecast to possibly get a bit more rain in this coming week, and our state really needs that to keep us out of a drought situation, so get out your raindance shoes to help that turn into a reality!

Library wines to get you through the rest of winter

While we're all enjoying our cozy nights by the fireplace and cooking at home, we've found ourselves hitting our cellars for some older wines to accompany these meals. Wines with a few years of age on them have additional breadth and gorgeous secondary notes that provide the wine with an extra dose of depth, along with savory characters that make them even better matches for these dishes.

We have a limited number of magnums available on some of our library wines as well. Email us for more information.

Orders of four or more bottles of library wines receive shipping included.
