The 2021 harvest is officially a wrap!

Devil's Gulch Chardonnay officially ends our 2021 harvest season

We brought in our last fruit of the 2021 season on October 19, with our Devil's Gulch Chardonnay and last old block of Devil's Gulch Pinot Noir wrapping things up for us. The next day, Mother Nature officially ended harvest for everyone in the area with the first of a series of rains, culminating in our big downpour and crazy winds this weekend. Over the 24-hour period from Saturday night to Sunday night, most of Sonoma County clocked in over 7 inches—in many places, it was nearly as much as we received for the entire 2021 rain season! Today as we write this, the sky is a sparkly blue, and the small lakes created over the weekend are starting to dry in the sun.

The only casualty from the early rainstorm was our Syrah, which didn't get ripe before the rains came. So, sadly, we won't be producing our Happy Ending port-style wine this vintage. We'll see if we can get Dan to release some from our library to share with you this holiday season to make up for it!

Speaking of holidays, everyone's favorite one is just around the corner! To celebrate, we've put together a special Thanksgiving 3-pack of wines that match perfectly with your turkey and all the sides. This year, we're venturing to Marin County for our favorites package. These wines from the chilly climate of Marin have the brightness that makes them lively companions from the first course to the mains.

Happy Halloween! With the harvest season behind us and the weather cooling, it's a quieter time in wine country. Aren't you due for a visit? We're still tasting on our patio on nice days, as well as inside our cozy tasting room. We'd love to see you here soon!
