Artist - Jim Freed
March 12-May 13, 2014
We're excited to welcome a new artist to our space March 12-May 13, with an artist reception on March 16 from 1-3pm. Jim Freed is a Bay Area artist who teaches at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Jim says, "I'm interested in how people interact with the landscape through the built environment. My work tends to show landscapes with evidence of human interaction, buildings, boats, vehicles, and the like, but not so much the people themselves. The amazing way that light plays on the form of structures has always fascinated me. I like how our structures change over time, how they weather, and how buildings are affected by their environment. Tax Weekend
April 12-13, 2014

It's Uncle Sam's big day, but you benefit this time, because we're paying the sales tax for you! All weekend long, we're picking up the sales tax on your wine purchases. We'll also have the shredding truck on hand in our parking lot to destroy your evidence mid-day on Sunday, April 13 (1 box per customer, please). Tasting flight (and shredding) are complimentary with your wine purchase, otherwise $15 per person.

Easter Weekend
April 19-20, 2014

Happy Easter! Whether you're looking for some wines to pair with your Easter dinner, or want to show off our beautiful wine country to your family and guests in town, stop by DG. We'll be open all weekend for our normal tasting room hours of 10am to 4:30pm, and will be highlighting wines that are delicious with your Easter ham, lamb, deviled eggs and more (sorry, chocolate bunnies are on their own). Tasting flight is complimentary with your wine purchase, otherwise $15 per person.

Seminar with Dan
April 26, 2014

Our wine education series continues in 2014, kicking off with a brand new seminar with Dan. For this class, Dan will be focusing on our individual lots of pinot noir and chardonnay, and the different barrels and coopers he chooses for them. Each of our single-vineyard wines has a signature barrel that Dan feels brings out the distinctive quality in that wine. You'll taste for yourself what a Remond barrel brings to some of our pinots, and why we love a certain Seguin Moreau barrel for our Rued Chardonnay. A private reception with appetizers follows the seminar. Very limited seating for this seminar, so reserve your space early. Tickets are $45 each for wine club members, $55 each for non-members. Mother's Day Weekend
May 10-11, 2014

We're celebrating Mothers on their special day, with a wine flight with all of Mom's favorite wines, plus a cheese plate to match. Wine and cheese flight for Mom is complimentary with wine purchase, otherwise $15 per person. If you're not a Mom but would like the cheese plate with your tasting this weekend, you can get yours for just $5.

Passport to Pinot
May 24-25, 2014

Join DG and our Russian River Valley neighbors as we break out the barrels of Pinot Noir for this taste-around weekend. You'll get to taste a barrel sample of Pinot Noir from the recent vintage not yet bottled at all participating wineries, then each winery will have its own special offerings in addition, whether it's additional barrel samples, library wines, food pairings, tours or entertainment. If you love Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (and who doesn't?), this is a must-attend event. All the information and tickets are at www.rrvw.org.

Summer Wine Club Soiree
June 7-8, 2014

Wine Club members, come pick up your last wine club package before our summer break, and enjoy a complimentary bread and cheese plate while you taste our latest releases. And don't forget, as a wine club member, you always enjoy complimentary tastings for you and your guests (up to 6 people per visit), so bring a few friends and introduce them to DG!

Artist Reception - Monika Barrack

From May 14 through July 17, Monika will be hanging her fun artwork in our tasting room, and we will hold an artist reception on June 8 from 1 to 3pm. Monika Steele Barrack's whimsical art playfully celebrates California's distinctive food and wine culture. The epicurean adventures of charismatic characters and their eccentric animal companions provide her with endless subject matter. Oysters and Whites Experience
June 14, 2014

We're kicking off summer and celebrating Father's Day all in one with a Saturday of oysters and whites! For this flight option, you'll receive three oysters and three white wines. Decide for yourself which pairs best with these succulent gems-Riesling, Pinot Blanc or Gewürztraminer. Oyster and White flight is complimentary with your $100 wine purchase, otherwise $20 per person. (We'll also have our classic tasting flight available.)
