Coming Attractions

The last of the 2004 harvest was just bottled (Syrah, as always, stays in barrel longest), as we prepare for the first of the 2005 bottling, and the 2006 harvest. We'll bottle the 2005 Dutton Ranch Chardonnay and Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir, plus the Morelli Lane and Russian River Valley zinfandels, in August, then the single-vineyard chardonnay and pinots will be bottled next spring.

We're especially excited to be able to have one of our old friends back as a single-vineyard selection with the 2005 vintage...all you Freestone fans, get ready! Yes, our Freestone Hill Pinot Noir will finally make its return as a single-vineyard wine next year. We'll bottle it in spring, and anticipate a fall 2007 release. For us to make a wine as a single-vineyard, not only does it have to be wonderful, it really must express the personality of it's home. The past few yeas, Freestone just hasn't had that extra special something, so we've chosen to blend it into the Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir. If you still have any of the 1999 or 2000 vintage of this wine (which we tasted recently, and they're incredible), doing a comparative tasting with the 2005 when it comes out would be fun.

If you are not already on our mailing list be sure to sign up (you can do so right here on-line). We'll send out periodic emails and new release announcements and keep you up-to-date on what's happening with Dutton-Goldfield and our wines.
